Our Florida Promise is a 501(c)(4) organization established by nursing home owners and operators to enhance the ability of Florida Health Care Association to properly and successfully impact the legislative process. Our Florida Promise works in partnership with FHCA’s lobbying efforts to advocate for nursing home interests.
A fully functioning and effective association has members that pay membership dues, along with a financially sound Political Action Committee (PAC). The FHC-PAC, while extremely effective in grassroots advocacy, is made of up individual members who wish to support our political efforts on an individual basis. It is common for the FHC-PAC to receive nominal donations from front line caregivers, administrators or other long term care employees.
Our Florida Promise was created by nursing home owners and operators as a way to help raise significant funds that can be used to enhance the Association’s legislative efforts.
Contributions to Our Florida Promise support FHCA’s highly-effective government relations activities. OFP’s PACs provide contributions to legislators and political candidates who promote the value and needs of Florida’s long term care community. OFP also conducts extensive advertising campaigns to raise awareness about critical long term care issues. OFP has minimal administrative costs due to FHCA’s management of those activities, including, for example, a seasoned team of lobbyists, reimbursement and regulatory consultants, media relations and communication tools, accounting and financial reporting.
It’s important for our members to support both groups - OFP and FHCA - which work hand-in-hand to protect, preserve and promote quality long term care in Florida.
For-profit companies, independent owners and not-for-profit organizations can support the efforts of Our Florida Promise. For more information about how to participate, click here.
