Family Forum Testimonials

"You were such a big part of our lives for eight years. I want to thank you personally for the devotional care and love you gave to [my mother]. I have had some of the greatest memories there - back porch, bingo, ice cream parlor, Fun Zone and Quiet Zone - being with other family and residents who I love dearly. [My mother's] loving and caring nursing staff, all of her aides...may God bless each and every one of you."

-Elaine, Carol, Joe and Allen to Jennifer Mikula, administrator, and the staff of Palm Garden of Ocala.

"I cannot thank you all enough for the kindness and care you extended to both my Mom and me. It was an extremely hard decision to put my mom in a nusing home, but with [staff member] Helen's extra sweet care, I never worried anymore. She truly took pride in making sure Mom always looked good...you have no idea how good it makes family members feel knowing their family member is in a caring place."

-Bonnie Goff to Melinda Gay, administrator, and the staff of Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center.

“We would like to thank the entire staff of Palm Garden…for the care given to our mother…We have had little experience with nursing homes...The care and concern of the Palm Garden staff allayed all our fears… It definitely deserves its five-star rating. Thank you for everything.”

- Janet Maffucci and Elaine Rossi to Scott Cairns, administrator, and the staff of Palm Garden of Port St. Lucie.

“Just wanted to go on record to say how very much I appreciated being at Palm Garden [of Ocala]. I had a hip replacement…I found your facility to be pleasant and all I had hoped for. Your employees were all very helpful and many went out of their way to make my stay more enjoyable. The nurses and therapists are top notch.”

- Dorothy C. to Jennifer Mikula, Administrator, and the staff of Palm Garden of Ocala.

"Thank you so much for everything - you have been amazing. I cannot even begin to find adequate words to express my gratitude for my Dad's care. You have given a gift that could never be repaid."

- Jeannie Galbraith about her father to the staff of Palm Garden of Tampa.

"When my dad came to Emerald Coast Rehabilitation Center, he was uncommunicative and couldn't do much of anything. With your kind, intense and persistent care, he actually became social and walked daily, something he had not done in years. The last few months of Dad's life were the best he had in years. in short, you gave me my Dad back for a few precious months until he passed away. This time with Dad was priceless, we were able to take him out and enjoy each other again! I will cherish these memories. I thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

- Carol Scott about her father, William, to Melissa Fijalkowski, Administrator, and the staff of Emerald Coast Rehabilitation Center in Ft. Walton Beach.

"I wanted to take a moment to tell you how happy we are with Palm Garden [of Ocala] and the acceptance and care of my sister, Velma. I know you are well aware of the thoughts and apprehensions of people who have to make a decision to place loved ones in facilities other than their homes, but you and Palm Garden have made that choice easier than expected. We could not be happier with how the taff treats and makes her feel welcome, releasing our anxiety and giving her the comfort of knowing she is in a caring place. We are extremely happy with the care, the food, the friendliness and the concerns of all involved in her daily life...Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for providing a haven in these times of tribulation."

- Paul & Isabel Sturgis about their sister, Velma, to Jennifer Mikula, Administrator, and the staff of Palm Garden of Ocala.

"I have been in Health Central Park [since February] and have been taken care by an outstanding group of people...my stay has been exceptionally well. I have been able to joke and have a merry time...When I had a brief moment of solitude, there was always someone to make me laugh and make me feel wanted. You should be proud of the dedicated and enthusiastic professionals that have sprung from your facility. Although I can't remember all their names, they have all been fantastic with me and every other person in here. You think, 'how can you tell?' Well, by the expression of the patients and their smiles."

- Maria Ortiz to Lori Jowett, Administrator, and the staff of Health Central Park in Winter Garden.

"I want to take this moment to express my sincere gratitude for the excellent care that I have received in your facility. Everyone here has been wonderful, the nurses, the therapist, all the aids that work here, the kitchen staff, and of course the administering staff that has kept my family informed. Naturally, no one ever wants to return to a hospital or to a rehab center, but if I have to, you can rest for sure that this will be the place."

- Glimeria Carbon to Scott Allen, Administrator, and the staff of Palm Garden of Tampa.

“I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am that I ended up choosing The Fountains for the last part of my mother’s life. Although the process was not always easy (what is in life), you were able to rise up and rise above any adversity and take my mother’s care as your first priority…I want to personally thank you for your patience, caring hearts…You should all be very proud of the contribution you have made in this world through your ability to deal with the elderly with style, compassion and grace.”

- Jo-Robin Hurwitz about her mother to Kathy Marciante, Administrator, and the staff of The Fountains Nursing Home, Boca Raton.

“I feel comfortable that my mother received excellence care while [at Bonifay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center]. . .The décor has a “home”feeling about it. One of the most important things I observed is that the numerous staff personnel and nurses always had a smile on their face. To me, this means a lot.”

– Steve Harbuck to Linda Ellis, Administrator, and the staff of Bonifay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

“Over the past 15 months, we were comforted by the dedication and warmth you showed our husband and father...It made a huge difference knowing he was in your caring hands. We will always be grateful for your skill and kindness.”

- Ella Schlanger about her husband, Michael, to the staff of Dolphins View.

“…Not only did [my husband] receive the finest rehab, but also the most courteous service by everyone, from the maintenance workers, the aides, the nurses. The same courtesy was extended to me and my family…You all gave him 100% of your expertise and it was evident to me that you care enough about people to see that they get it...”

- Mrs. Phyllis Goldberg to Vern Zeger, Administrator, and the staff of Hawthorne Village of Brandon.

“Throughout her stay, your staff made us feel that you were caring, compassionate and sensitive to the needs of not only mother, but us as well. Thank you for all you did for her and for making the memory of her final days one that we can look back on with such warmth and satisfaction.”

- The children of Ms. Helen Walton to Chris Riggs, Administrator, and the staff of Sunset Point Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Clearwater.

“It was wonderful to have caregivers [at Palm Garden of Tampa] who really cared. When we took [Dad] in, we thought he would never be able to swallow again, and that he would be in the nursing home for the rest of his life. He was taken in on a stretcher back at the beginning of February and [on March 30] he walked out using his walker. They had a little going home ceremony for him in the nursing home lobby, with his caregivers and us. It was a happy, teary, occasion as they sang "For he's a jolly good fellow" and said good-bye.”

- Rollins Turner about his father, Ralph, and his experience at Palm Garden of Tampa.

“I appreciate the effort you put into making the facility one of the best, and you are succeeding. I thank God every day that [my husband] is at your facility and getting the care he needs. I can relax more now, knowing that he is taken care of.”

- Lucy Woodrum about her husband, Ray, to Michael Bradley, Administrator, and the staff of Consulate Health Care of Winter Haven.
