FHCA Preceptor Refresher Video Course

New Board of Nursing Home Administrator regulations pursuant to 64B10-16.0025 (2), FAC, require all Florida Nursing Home Administrators with Preceptor Certification to take a two (2) hour Preceptor Refresher Course upon license renewal every two years.

The Preceptor Refresher Course must be completed by September 30, 2012.

FHCA's Preceptor Refresher Video Course is an engaging video session taught by John Simmons, a certified Preceptor and administrator of Macclenny Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Additional content is provided by certified Preceptors Scott Allen, administrator of Palm Garden of Tampa, and Marco Carrasco, administrator of West Gables Health Care Center, recent Administrators in Training and Bobby Rosenthal, Board of Nursing Home Administrators member. This on-demand video course allows you to schedule your learning on your own time and in the convenience of your home or office.    Th The video will cover the required areas of training, including AIT program requirements, and offer an informative review of nursing home domains of practice.

After watching the video course, participants will be able to:

  • Review teaching techniques
  • Enhance concepts of mentorship
  • Recognize AIT program requirements
  • Understand needs and expectations of AITs and preceptors
  • Identify nursing home domains of practice


FHCA will provide two (2) contact hours of continuing education. 

Cost for the Preceptor Refresher Video Course is $50 for FHCA members or $75 for non-members.

*Upon receipt of payment, you will receive an email from FHCA containing the video link, handouts and post-video test for completion. All course participants will receive a Record of Attendance for managing your continuing education credits. For participants who are members of Florida's CE Broker, FHCA will upload credit to the CE Broker website after the post-test has been reviewed and scored with a passing rate.
