FHCA Laws and Rules of the Board of Nursing – Online Self-directed Video Course

Florida’s nurses have a new licensure continuing education topic requirement enacted in 2013 through administrative rule by the Board of Nursing. The new CE topic, Laws and Rules of the Board of Nursing, must be two hours in length and be obtained from a Board approved continuing education provider.  It is required for nurses renewing licenses in 2015 and once every subsequent biennium.
Florida Health Care Association's self-directed video course is affordable at just $25.00. Nurses can experience the online video course on demand and enjoy an interactive format to test their knowledge, finishing with a quiz, as required by the Board. Supported by Relias Learning (formerly Care2Learn), successful course completers will have their hours automatically reported to CE Broker and will receive a physical certificate of attendance.

In keeping with the regulatory mandate, FHCA’s online video course supports these objectives:
•    Describe the Legislative purpose of Florida’s Nurse Practice Act
•    Locate the laws and rules specific to the practice of nursing and nursing assistants
•    Identify Florida’s nursing practice levels and the associated scopes of practice
•    Explain requirements for continuing nurse licensure
•    Contrast ethical and legal practice, and
•    Construct a plan for career maintenance and development within the limits of law.
