FHCA members are committed to providing quality care and quality of life for our state’s frail elders and individuals with disabilities. Our members have many positive stories to share, and FHCA is dedicated to promoting the positive image of long term care by bringing those positive stories to the forefront. FHCA's Art from the Heart program was created in 2006 to recognize the vibrant spirits and creative abilities of residents of FHCA member nursing homes and assisted living facilities across Florida. Artwork created by nursing home and ALF residents of all ages is collected each year, affording residents the opportunity to demonstrate their own unique talent and enthusiasm for life. Some have been creating art their entire lives, while others have recently discovered their artistic talents thanks to activity and enrichment programs in member facilities. Collected works are displayed in our virtual Art from the Heart Gallery below, with signature pieces selected for display at Florida’s Capitol, the Museum of Florida History and FHCA special events. FHCA also develops holiday cards, note cards and other promotional pieces which are available for purchase for anyone interested in celebrating art and life.
