Community Outreach

The Florida Health Care Association promotes the long term care profession through a number of outreach programs that honor Florida's elders, as well as recognize the providers who are committed to improving the quality of care and quality of life of the residents and patients they serve.

Art from the Heart
Florida Health Care Association's Art from the Heart calendar features artwork created by nursing home residents from across the state of Florida. University art professors and local art curators judge the annual entries, which are contributed from artists ranging from age 20 to 99. The artwork included in the calendar reveal each resident's enthusiasm for life, as well as their own unique talent. Proceeds from the sale of the Art from the Heart calendars benefit FHCA's Quality Foundation, which endeavors to improve services and quality of care for all those living in Florida's nursing homes.

National Nursing Home Week
Celebrate National Nursing Home Week from May 9-15, 2010 and salute residents, staff, volunteers and others who Enrich Every Day.

National Health Care Observances
FHCA works with its national affiliate, the American Health Care Association, to compile a list of dates that recognize health care events and activities throughout the year.
