FHCA's Creative Connections: An Activity & Life Enrichment Professionals Training on April 28 in Orlando and April 30 as a virtual program is a comprehensive training designed to equip Activity and Life Enrichment professionals with creative tools and proven strategies to enhance resident well-being. From understanding a complex regulatory environment, fostering cognitive engagement for all residents, building emotional connections and gathering feedback to enhance resident experiences, this training provides everything needed to inspire joy, promote socialization, and create a vibrant atmosphere in skilled nursing centers and assisted living communities. Join a network of passionate professionals and elevate the activities experiences for residents and staff alike.

Continuing Education

The Orlando program offers a total of 4 Live, In-person continuing education credits, including CE credits for activity professionals from the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP).The April 30 program will offer 4, computer-based CE credits. FHCA will post contact hours to CE Broker by May 26, 2026.

Activities Regulatory Bingo & Clinical Guideline Update

This session will explore the various regulatory requirements, both state and federal, associated with the provision of services to residents. Discussions will focus on what is involved with providing an ongoing program of activities and what impact does it have on the resident’s function, mood, and cognition, what the clinical implications are and what skills and qualifications are required for staff. Join us to learn more as we BINGO through it.

Through the Activity Professional’s Lens: Making Meaningful Moments Happen

This session highlights how activity professionals intentionally create meaningful, person-centered experiences that enhance quality of life across the continuum of residents’ care needs. This session will teach attendees to adapt activities for high-, mid-, and low-functioning residents and develop creative strategies to meet each resident where they are.

Chaos to Calendar: Mastering Your Activity Schedule

The activities calendar is one of the first things families, residents, and surveyors view when they enter a center. This session equips activity professionals to transform an overwhelming schedule into an appealing, balanced, and engaging calendar. Participants will explore practical strategies to adapt when volunteers call out or keep the calendar full when cancellations occur. Attendees will leave with tools to reduce stress, streamline planning, and build a calendar that supports consistency and purposeful engagement.

From Isolation to Inclusion: Building Real Connection

Participants will examine the causes and impact of social isolation and learn how intentional, person-centered engagement can create a stronger sense of belonging. Through actionable tools and real-world examples, attendees will discover ways to notice the warning signs of social isolation, develop strategies to connect with isolated residents and work across departments to foster engagement.

From Feedback to Action: How Activities Directors Can Use CoreQ & AHRQ Surveys to Enhance Resident Experience

This session will demonstrate how Activities Directors can play a meaningful role in enhancing resident, family, and employee experience through effective survey engagement. Attendees will learn how CoreQ and AHRQ surveys are administered on behalf of facilities—supporting compliance while generating actionable insights that inform care planning, quality improvement, and survey readiness. Presenters will connect regulatory requirements with practical application, showing how feedback collection can directly support Activities programming, interdisciplinary collaboration, and overall facility performance.
