Join a network of passionate professionals and elevate the activities experience for residents and staff alike. FHCA's Creative Connections: An Activity & Life Enrichment Professionals Training on April 30 in Tampa is designed to equip Activity and Life Enrichment professionals with creative tools and proven strategies to enhance resident well-being. From understanding a complex regulatory environment, integrating new technologies, fostering cognitive engagement for all residents, and building emotional connections, this training provides everything needed to inspire joy, promote socialization, and create a vibrant atmosphere in skilled nursing centers and assisted living communities.

Continuing Education

This program offers a total of 4 Live, In-person continuing education credits, including CE credits for activity professionals from the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals (NCCAP). FHCA will post contact hours to CE Broker by May 16, 2025.

Regulatory BINGO and Clinical Guidelines

This interactive session will explore the various regulatory requirements, both state and federal, associated with the provision of services to residents. Presenters will discuss what's involved with providing an ongoing program of activities and what impact it has on the resident’s function, mood, and cognition. The clinical implications and the required skills and qualifications for staff will also be discussed. Attendees will BINGO through these topics, having fun while expanding their knowledge.

Networking Lunch

Activities for the ADRD Resident

This session will address providing the appropriate programming for individuals with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia (ADRD), with a focus on a whole-person approach. Attendees will learn how to adjust the activity to accommodate the resident and use the five domains of wellness to identify a well-rounded activities program for each individual.

1:30 to 2:00 p.m.

Activities for Residents Who Are Nonambulatory or Self-Isolate

This session will address programming and approaches for residents who are nonambulatory or self-isolate. Attendees will also gain an understanding of the root causes of self-limiting behaviors and basic leisure education for those who have had a change in status that affects their leisure interests and abilities.

Making Technology Work for You, Today and In the Future

Technology is evolving quickly, and keeping up can feel overwhelming. This session will break down what’s available today, key trends shaping the future, and practical ways to stay ahead as an activities professional. From digital communication tools and activity calendars to articifical intelligence (AI), telehealth, and virtual reality (VR), attendees will explore how technology can help Activity and Life Enrichment professionals save time, enhance engagement, and improve efficiency - without adding more to your plate.
