AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Workshops
2019 Dates/Locations TBD
Please check future events.
FHCA annually provides hands-on workshops across the state for centers pursuing the AHCA/NCAL Bronze, Silver and Gold National Quality Awards. These intensive workshops are led by FHCA's Koko Okano, an AHCA/NCAL Quality Award Master Examiner and an examiner of the National Baldrige Program. FHCA suggests centers consider sending any team members working on the centers' Quality Award application/criteria to these workshops, which can result in a better application, greater understanding of the foundational elements of quality in your center, and enhanced excitement as your center engages in the program.

FHCA Quality Award Workshops
Bronze Quality Award Workshop
The Bronze Quality Award Workshop is designed to help applicants understand and meet the demands of the Bronze criteria. Registration includes the six-hour intensive workshop, and participants will walk out with a draft application. Additional AHCA/NCAL tools and resources are available for applicants to help answer questions surrounding individual components of the Bronze criteria.
Silver Quality Award Workshop
This six-hour intensive workshop is designed to help attendees better understand the application process and criteria for submission. Participants will walk out with a written application framework. Attendees will also receive tools and worksheets, an online Q&A open forum and personal consultation from Trainer Koko Okano.
Cat 7 Workshops
Category 7 is the most technical section of the Silver and Gold Quality Award applications with over 45% of total points allocated. Successful award applicants will benefit from attending both the Silver or Gold Award level workshop and the Cat 7 workshop together. This will provide a better understanding of how the Category 7 is reviewed and scored by the examiner to ensure this section of their application will earn enough points to cross the minimum scoring threshold.
Gold Quality Award Workshop
This six-hour intensive workshop is designed to help attendees better understand the application process and criteria for submission. Attendees will receive tools and worksheets, an online Q&A open forum and personal consultation from Trainer Koko Okano.
