NIPP 2.0©

NIPP 2.0© is for the nursing home infection preventionist who has previously taken NIPP© Nursing Home Infection Prevention Program, NIPPing Infections in the Bud or other specialized training in infection prevention and control. This training revisits key concepts from the original NIPP© training such as meaningful outcome measures for infection prevention and antibiotic stewardship and examples of how to present data to drive decision making. NIPP© 2.0 also reviews the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines that have been updated since 2019, discusses the epidemiology of organisms that may cause infections and foodborne illness in long term care settings, and identifies the steps of an outbreak investigation. Small group activities include playing the game of “What Bug Am I?” and conducting an outbreak investigation. Please note this training does not include information about SARS-CoV-2. Lunch will be included with this program.
