Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Visit this website daily for the latest information that FHCA has to share about COVID-19. As concerns arise with the emerging coronavirus, officially named COVID-19, we are working with our state partners, including Florida Department of Health and Agency for Health Care Administration to ensure nursing centers receive necessary guidance to prevent the spread of this disease.

Important Supply Shortage Notice

If your center has minimal to zero supplies, it is imperative that you call your county Emergency Management Office (EM), provide your PPE supply status and level of urgency so a Mission Request can be added on your center's behalf.
Use this COVID-19 Emergency Requisition Request Form to submit to your EM office, who will provide you a mission number. This activity should be reported into ESS and documented, along with all efforts you are making to secure supplies. The Division of Emergency Management has reported that counties are activating their staging plans for supply distribution. Facilities will be contacted when supplies are available and will be directed where to go to pick up what is available. Please note: There may only be a portion of your requested PPE available, and EM will continue to attempt providing the full amounts as they become available.

Facilities should continue preserving supplies for isolation; click here for a summary of recent CDC guidance on how to maximize supply usage during crisis-level shortages.

State of Florida Updates

On March 15, at the direction of Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz issued an Emergency Order tightening the temporary restrictions for all individuals entering residential and long-term care facilities. For the next 30 days, all individuals will be prohibited from entering nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Review Emergency Order 20-006 for specific details and guidance.
