Dan Frenden Receives 2025 Arthur H. Harris Government Services Award

Tallahassee, Fla. – Dan Frenden (left), administrator at Balanced Healthcare in St. Petersburg, has been named the recipient of the Florida Health Care Association’s (FHCA) prestigious 2025 Arthur H. Harris Government Services Award. This award, presented during FHCA’s Annual Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, recognizes an FHCA member who demonstrates exceptional advocacy efforts and contributes meaningfully to the Association’s legislative priorities. Frenden was recognized for his outstanding commitment to long term care advocacy and his leadership in engaging lawmakers on the critical issues affecting Florida’s caregivers and residents.

“Dan is a dedicated advocate whose leadership and ability to connect with legislators has created meaningful change for this profession,” said Emmett Reed, FHCA Chief Executive Officer. “He embodies the spirit of this award through his commitment to Florida’s long term care residents and caregivers and to the mission of our Association.”

Frenden, who has more than 20 years’ experience in long term care, has served as an FHCA District President and is currently FHCA's Region III Vice President on the Board of Directors. He is an active member of FHCA’s Legislative Committee and Florida Leaders alumni group. Frenden regularly participates in FHCA’s Lobby Wednesdays, an annual grassroots initiative that brings long term care professionals to Florida’s Capitol in Tallahassee to connect with lawmakers. Frenden is also known for consistently hosting policymakers at his facility to give them a first-hand perspective of the current long term care environment. His unique ability to share meaningful stories with legislators about quality, the changing resident population and critical workforce issues have consistently strengthened FHCA’s presence at the Florida Capitol and beyond.

Frenden was previously recognized by FHCA as Administrator of the Year in 2022, and the 2025 Arthur H. Harris Government Services Award marks his second statewide honor in just three years, an achievement that reflects both his professional excellence and deep dedication to the profession.

The 2025 Arthur H. Harris Government Services Award is part of Florida Health Care Association’s Long Term Care Excellence Achievement Awards, sponsored by Elite Medical Staffing, which were presented during FHCA’s Annual Conference, July 13-17 at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando. These awards annually honor a Nursing Home and Assisted Living Facility Administrator of the Year, a business partner and other individuals for their service and dedication to long term care.
