FHCA Praises House for Prioritizing Resident-Centered Care in Nursing Centers

TALLAHASSEE, FL - The Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) today praised the House Health & Human Services Committee for passing HB 1239, which would modernize nursing center staffing requirements by allowing for more specialized staff to help provide resident care in nursing centers.

“HB 1239 would allow skilled specialists to work alongside Certified Nursing Assistants in providing top-of-the-line, individualized care for our residents,” said CEO Emmett Reed. “FHCA is grateful that the Legislature recognizes how resident needs have changed since standards were last updated 20 years ago, and hopes lawmakers will continue to support efforts to prioritize personalized care.”
