FHCA Recognizes 45 Nursing Centers for Earning Bronze National Quality Award
Florida Leads Nation in Commitment to Quality Long Term Care
Tallahassee, Fla. – The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) has announced the long term care centers earning the 2024 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award. Florida leads the nation with the most 2024 Bronze Quality Award recipients, with 45 skilled nursing centers earning this achievement.
"Florida's long term care centers are constantly striving to be the gold standard when it comes to delivering exceptional care, and achieving this award is another impressive milestone of continuous quality improvement," said FHCA Chief Executive Officer Emmett Reed. "We are proud to recognize our members for their pursuit of excellence in care delivery.”
The Bronze National Quality award is the first of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, a comprehensive organizational assessment and recognition program for long term care providers. The program recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to improve the lives of residents and staff in long term care.

Florida has more Bronze - Commitment to Quality and Silver - Achievement in Quality Award recipients than any other state in the country, with 126 Bronze recipients and 37 Silver recipients. Additional centers earning the 2024 Silver Quality Award will be announced later in June. Florida also boasts three Gold - Excellence in Quality Award recipients – Highlands Lake Center in Lakeland, Life Care Center of Sarasota and The Villages Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lady Lake.
Florida's 45 nursing centers are among 709 long term care centers in 48 states earning the Bronze distinction. “This achievement reflects each provider’s dedication to continuous improvement,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “It is an honor to recognize their hard work and commitment to enhancing the quality of care and service as they continue this rewarding journey.”
Florida award recipients will be recognized during FHCA’s 2024 Annual Conference & Trade Show, July 21-25 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, as part of the Quality Awards and Scholarship Ceremony and Celebration sponsored by Medline Industries. This event serves to honor all FHCA members that earn quality achievements, including the National Quality Award, Governor’s Gold Seal Award for Excellence in Long-Term Care and Joint Commission accreditation. Long term caregivers who earned an FHCA scholarship to help advance their careers will also be recognized.
