FHCA Recognizes 41 Nursing Centers for Earning Bronze National Quality Award

Tallahassee, Fla. – The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) has announced the long term care centers receiving the 2025 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award. Florida Health Care Association is proud to recognize 41 skilled nursing centers that have earned this achievement. 

"Florida's nursing centers are committed to being the gold standard in quality care, and this award reflects the focus of our dedicated caregivers who work tirelessly every day to improve the lives of our state's long term care residents," said FHCA Chief Executive Officer Emmett Reed. "We are proud to recognize our members for their resident-centered focus and pursuit of excellence in care delivery.”

The Bronze National Quality award is the first of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, a comprehensive organizational assessment and recognition program for long term care providers. The program recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to improve the lives of residents and staff in long term care.

The following 41 Florida skilled nursing centers earned the Bronze-Commitment to Quality Award for 2025:

Florida boasts 167 skilled nursing centers that have achieved the Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award. Additional centers earning the 2025 Silver Quality Award will be announced later in June. Florida is also home to three Gold  - Excellence in Quality Award recipients – Highlands Lake Center in Lakeland, Life Care Center of Sarasota and The Villages Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lady Lake.

Florida's 41 nursing centers are among 653 long term care centers across the country earning the Bronze distinction. "Starting the Quality Award journey is about more than recognition—it’s about building a culture that puts quality first,” said Cathy Bergland, AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Board Chair. “Congratulations to each recipient for embracing that commitment and setting the stage for continued success.” 

Florida award recipients will be recognized during FHCA’s 2025 Annual Conference & Trade Show, July 13-17 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, as part of the Quality Awards and Scholarship Ceremony and Celebration sponsored by Medline Industries. This event serves to honor all FHCA members that earn quality achievements, including the National Quality Award, Governor’s Gold Seal Award for Excellence in Long-Term Care and Joint Commission accreditation. Long term caregivers who earned an FHCA scholarship to help advance their careers will also be recognized.

The 2025 National Quality Award Recipients will be recognized during the Elevating Excellence Awards Ceremony at AHCA/NCAL’s Convention & Expo: Delivering Solutions 25, in Las Vegas, Nev. on Tuesday, October 21.
