Florida’s 2022 AHCA/NCAL Silver National Quality Award Recipients Announced

Tallahassee, FL  - Florida Health Care Association is pleased to announce that six member nursing centers have earned the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) 2022 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award. With this announcement, Florida now has a total of 105 centers that have earned the Silver Quality Award, far exceeding any other state in the country.

The Silver Award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which recognizes providers across the nation that have demonstrated improved quality outcomes for staff, residents and individuals with disabilities in long term and post-acute care. Each application is reviewed and judged against a set of nationally recognized standards for achieving excellence using the Baldrige principles. These six Florida nursing centers, all of them FHCA members, are among 40 skilled nursing care centers, 3 assisted living communities, and 3 skilled nursing/assisted living providers in 24 states and the District of Columbia that achieved the Silver Award.

The following 6 FHCA member nursing centers have earned the Silver-Achievement in Quality Award for 2022:

  • Avante of Ocala
  • Fernandina Beach Rehabilitation and Nursing Center
  • HealthPark Care & Rehabilitation Center, Fort Myers
  • Manorcare Health Services – Delray Beach
  • Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center, Belleair
  • Windsor Woods Rehab & Healthcare Center, Hudson

In addition to the 105 Silver National Quality Award recipients, there are a total of 144 FHCA members who have achieved Bronze National Quality Award status and 2 members who have earned Gold, the highest award distinction.

“FHCA is proud of our members who continue to go above and beyond to care for their residents in what is still a challenging environment. Our nursing centers remain committed to delivering high quality care, and recognition programs like these are important to help give the public a clear picture of the positive care outcomes and customer service that long term care providers are delivering every day,” said Emmett Reed, FHCA Chief Executive Officer.

Florida award recipients will be recognized during FHCA’s 2022 Annual Conference & Trade Show at the Hyatt Regency Orlando, July 31-August 4, as part of the Quality Award Ceremony and Celebration sponsored by Medline Industries. This event serves to recognize all FHCA members that earn quality achievements, including National Quality Awards, Governor’s Gold Seal for Excellence in Long-Term Care, and Joint Commission accreditation.

AHCA/NCAL will officially present the National Quality Awards during AHCA/NCAL’s 73rd Convention & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 9-12, 2022.
