Florida Health Care Association Thanks Lawmakers for Supporting Quality Long Term Care
The Florida Health Care Association today applauded the approval of SB 170, Quality of Care in Nursing Homes, by the Florida Senate Appropriations Committee on Health and Human Services.
Emmett Reed, FHCA's Chief Executive Officer said, “In light of Florida’s ever-growing senior population, the need for high-quality elder care has never been greater. Senate Bill 170 is another step in ensuring that Florida remains the gold standard for long term care. We’re thankful to Senator Burton for bringing forth this legislation, which enhances care collaboration, strengthens medical director qualifications, and recognizes the importance of resident and staff satisfaction, reflecting FHCA’s unwavering commitment to making sure every senior receives the exceptional care they deserve.
“We are especially thankful to the more than 60 FHCA members who traveled to the Capitol today to advocate for the well-being of Florida’s seniors and people with disabilities. The dedication of these long term caregivers underscores the compassion and excellence that define our state’s elder care profession. By supporting SB 170, Florida is taking meaningful steps to ensure that every senior may age with dignity, comfort, and the highest standard of care.”
