Florida Health Care Association Creates Hurricane Ian Relief Fund Supporting Long-Term Care Center Caregivers

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) today established its Hurricane Ian Relief Fund to aid the heroic caregivers who work in the Association’s member nursing centers and assisted living facilities. The fund will benefit employees who were affected by the storm and help them recover from the devastation left in Ian’s wake.

“Thousands of dedicated caregivers fought through unimaginable conditions to continue providing quality care and safety to nursing center residents despite the horrific conditions Hurricane Ian caused,” said FHCA CEO Emmett Reed. “Time and time again, our caregivers put the safety of Florida’s vulnerable nursing center residents before their own. For all that these heroes have done to support our loved ones in nursing centers and assisted living communities, this relief fund is our chance to support them as they recover from this devastating storm.”

All donations to FHCA’s Hurricane Ian Relief Fund will go directly to those in need. The Hurricane Relief Fund was established through the Florida Health Care Education and Development Foundation, FHCA’s 501c(3) tax-exempt organization.
