Marco Carrasco Elected President of Florida Health Care Association

TALLAHASSEE – During its recent Virtual Conference, members of the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) elected Marco Carrasco as President of the Association. Carrasco is Senior Administrator of Plaza Health Network, which manages five skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities across Florida. As President, Carrasco will lead the Association’s 30-member Board of Directors, which includes 16 District Presidents from across the state.

“Florida’s long term caregivers have been heroes on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic, working tirelessly to keep residents safe while meeting their critical care needs,” said Carrasco. “I'm proud to lead this incredible association, which has played a critical role during this state of emergency. I plan to build upon our strong presence across Florida to demonstrate our members’ shared focus on preserving the resources needed to care for our residents while proposing viable solutions to help our state support Florida’s aging population.”

Carrasco has been actively involved in Florida Health Care Association for more than a decade, previously serving as Senior Vice President, Treasurer, as well as a member of FHCA's Reimbursement and Legislative Committees and Florida Health Care Political Action Committee Board. He is a graduate of the American Health Care Association’s Future Leaders of Long Term Care in America program and is a strong believer in mentoring future leaders, having served as a Nursing Home Preceptor to eight individuals who have gone on to leadership roles in the long term care profession. He holds a Master’s Degree in Health Service Administration from Florida International University and is an Executive Board member for the Miami-Dade County Health Care Preparedness Coalition.
