Quality Improvement

FHCA QIO Collaborative

FHCA has partnered with Alliant Quality, the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) that was selected by CMS to complete the 12th Scope of Practice. Alliant Quality has replaced the Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) as Florida's new QIO. Centers that previously participated with HSAG will want to sign on with Alliant Quality to continue receiving benefits and support for continuous quality improvement - do so here.

Through Alliant Quality's Southern Partners Action Collaborative for Excellence (SPACE), all nursing centers have access to collaborative learning events, quality metrics and data, best practice sharing, toolkits and resources. Participating nursing centers will also receive hands-on coaching on QAPI strategies and peer mentors available to assist with implementing a systems-based approach for quality improvement practices.

Nursing centers that partnered with Alliant Quality's SPACE program in other states experienced:

  • Fewer C. diff Infection Cases
  • Reduced Antipsychotic Medications
  • Reduced Antibiotic Prescriptions
  • Improved Flu and Pneumonia Vaccine Rates

To participate with Alliant Quality, click here to complete the participant agreement online. Or, download the participation agreement and submit it via email to nursinghome@alliantquality.org. Centers that previously participated with HSAG must complete an agreement with Alliant Quality to continue benefiting from their QIO support. An Alliant Quality representative will follow up with you to discuss next steps.

FHCA's partnership with Alliant Quality includes recruitment support, data collection, technical assistance and promotion of Alliant Quality's educational opportunities to support continuous quality improvement in Florida's nursing centers. For questions or to learn more about the FHCA-Alliant Quality Partnership, please contact Deborah Franklin of our staff.
