Long Term & Post Acute Care HIT Collaborative and Latest Roadmap

In 2005, AHCA and NCAL jointed with a number of Long Term and Post Acute Care (LTPAC) stakeholder associations as the Long Term and Post Acute Care HIT Collaborative.  This organization has filled a void, advocating for and educating on behalf of a common interest and vision that LTPAC plays a crucial role in providing care to the frail elderly and, as a result, must be included in national efforts to provide all Americans with access to electronic medical records and the means to share that information through a national health information exchange by 2014.  Through coordinated educational efforts, the Collaborative has worked closely with national policymakers and with industry leaders.  In part, this is accomplished by hosting an annual LTPAC HIT Summit and by publishing of a Road Map.  The 2010–2012 LTPAC Health IT Road Map is the third published by the Collaborative to provide guidance to provider organizations, policymakers, vendors, payers, and other stakeholders.
