Life Safety code compliance and survey preparation are key to the health and well-being of skilled nursing center residents and staff. FHCA's 2024 Life Safety 101 is a comprehensive, six-hour training for experienced and new plant managers. The event will feature the Agency for Health Care Administration's (AHCA) John Altherr and Eddie Alday and FHCA’s Life Safety Consultant, Clinton Slier with Integrity Health Care Systems, Inc., who will provide a comprehensive review of current state and federal life safety requirements, greater understanding of available resources related to life safety, and how to align life safety codes to the plant manager’s facility. Additionally, attendees will receive an electronic resource manual to assist in the day-to day-operation, which includes AHCA checklists and links to invaluable resources and regulations. For those unable to attend in-person, a virtual, live broadcast is available.

In-person, Live Program

  • Training Dates: April 9 in Tampa, FL.
  • Training Materials: Speaker presentations and handout materials will be made available.
  • Continuing Education Credits: This program offers a total of 6 live contact hours. FHCA will post contact hours to CE Broker by May 1, 2024.

Virtual, Live Broadcast

  • Delivered over 6, virtual live broadcasted sessions.
  • Training Dates: The virtual, live broadcasted sessions will take place April 9 during the live event. All registered attendees will access these sessions through Zoom. Sessions will also be recorded and available to watch between April 10-26.
  • Training Materials: 6 video sessions; post-quiz; speaker presentations and handout materials.
  • Continuing Education Credits: This program offers a total of 6 computer-based contact hours. FHCA will post contact hours to CE Broker by May 1, 2024. Participants must watch the session video in its entirety and pass the corresponding post-quiz by April 26 at 4:00 p.m. EST to receive CEUs.
