FHCA’s Introduction to Risk Management program equips participants with the essential tools to establish or strengthen their center’s risk management strategies, specifically tailored to long term care. Led by industry experts, including representatives from the Agency for Health Care Administration, RB Health Partners, Inc., and other risk managers from FHCA’s Risk Compliance Council, the program delves into critical topics such as advance directives, Florida’s state-specific risk requirements, and relevant federal regulations. Designed to deepen participants' understanding, the program addresses high-risk areas, including elopement, significant incidents, and accidents.
Additionally, attendees will gain insight into the reporting standards, investigation steps, QA and QAPI, and documentation required by both state and federal guidelines. Learn how to keep a comment or concern from turning into a complaint. The valuable training is for administrators, risk managers, Directors of Nursing, other nursing leadership, and Social Service Directors.
Attendees can choose from a live, in-person event in Tallahassee, FL, or a virtual, live broadcast delivered simultaneously. The in-person program offers a total of 7 live contact hours and 8 computer-based CEUs, with the virtual, live broadcast offering a total of 15 computer-based CEUs. FHCA will post contact hours to CE Broker by November 21, 2026.

Virtual, Live Broadcast
- Delivered via virtual live broadcast sessions.
- Training Dates: The virtual, live broadcast will take place on October 27. All registered attendees will access these sessions through Zoom. These sessions will also be recorded and available to watch between after the live presentation. In addition, 4 pre-recorded video sessions will be available to view prior to the live event.

- Continuing Education Credits: This program offers a total of 15 computer-based contact hours. FHCA will post contact hours to CE Broker by November 20, 2026.
