Restorative Nursing Programs are moving to the forefront under the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM), as providers will be reimbursed for skilled nursing residents if restorative nursing is properly captured on the MDS. Understanding the importance of thoroughly assessing residents upon admission and identifying their clinical indicators for restorative care is a key factor for success under the PDPM system.
FHCA's Restorative Care and PDPM Training is designed for the entire interdisciplinary team and includes a complimentary electronic Restorative Guidebook for each registered attendee. The program features an overview of the Patient Driven Payment Model and an understanding of how the PDPM can impact care and services. Attendees will learn how person-centered care is enhanced under the PDPM through restorative care programming, which provides benefits to residents when used as an extension of skilled therapy. The rules and regulations related to restorative care will also be addressed to ensure providers are properly meeting the requirements.
