FHCA Sr. VP Joins LTC Podcast to Share Vision of Unity, Growth, and Resilience

In long-term care, unity and collaboration are pillars of our strength. These values were on display at the Florida Health Care Association 2023 Annual Conference & Trade Show in Orlando in July. “We're here to be colleagues who want to have fun, network, and enjoy each other’s company,” said Julie Morris, senior vice president of FHCA, on the LTC Heroes podcast. Listen to the full interview from Julie's interview during the conference:

Speaking to Experience Care’s Peter Murphy Lewis, Morris shared plans for more inclusion and camaraderie at future events. “This conference is mainly for administrators, operators, RVPs, C Suites, and members,” she said. “But I'd really like to see it expand to other disciplines, like skilled nursing rehab directors, and support people from different centers.” Morris also shared the value of attending such conferences and the diverse learning environments that they foster. “We offer a lot of different tracks at the conference for education, and I learn something new every year,” said Morris. “Some are good friends from the CMS who teach and tell me new things. And hearing firsthand information from them is always very beneficial.”

In the face of recent challenges, Morris noted, the long-term care profession has come together, showing strength and perseverance. “The industry has come full circle,” said Morris. “We wrapped our arms around each other during hurricanes and COVID. It touches your soul, and I realized it was an honor to be a part of the industry.” As the long term care sector continues to evolve, FHCA holds firm to its unwavering values of unity, growth, learning, and compassion.
