FHCA Scholarships Helping Long Term Caregivers Advance Their Careers

Congratulations to our August scholarship recipients! FHCA’s Career Climb and Bruce Taylor Scholarships are helping these member employees advance their careers in long term care. FHCA would like to recognize these employees who go above and beyond on a daily basis for our state’s elders.

Laquita Brunson, a CNA with Fletcher Health & Rehab Center, is currently pursuing an associate’s degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and plans to earn her master’s degree as an Occupational Therapist.

Mari-Kelly Terrell, an LPN working as a Restorative Nurse with Fletcher Health & Rehab Center, plans to finish school in the spring with an associate’s degree in Nursing.

Tremaine Shuler, an Administrative Assistant with Brooks Rehabilitation University Crossing, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration with the goal of becoming an Administrator of a long term care facility.

Jana Davis, Business Office Manager with Palm Garden of Clearwater, is working to receive a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration and has a goal to eventually manage a skilled nursing facility.

Gemilla Kiser is a CNA at Suwannee Health & Rehab. She’s currently working toward her associate’s degree in Nursing and later plans to obtain a bachelor’s and master’s to become an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.

Caleb Blackstone  is a Physical Therapy Assistant at Brooks Rehabilitation University Crossing and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. His long-term goal is to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy and continue working in geriatrics.

Kaleesha Francis, an LPN at Brynwood Health & Rehabilitation, is in school to acquire a degree in Nursing and plans to become a Registered Nurse.

Lataurius Allen, a CNA at Brynwood Health & Rehabilitation, hopes to become a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and eventually earn a doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
